Terms of Service

Template notice. This document is a working draft for RentRiga.com. Before going live, have it reviewed by a Latvian IT/IP lawyer to confirm it satisfies the Latvian Civil Law, the Consumer Rights Protection Law, the EU Digital Services Act, and any contractual requirements with source portals.

1. About us

RentRiga.com ("RentRiga", "we", "us") is a rental-listing aggregation service operated from Rīga, Latvia. We collect publicly available rental listings from third-party property portals and present them in one consolidated search experience. Contact: legal@rentriga.com.

2. What RentRiga is — and isn't

RentRiga is an aggregator and search service. We do not own, manage, lease, or broker any of the properties listed. We are not party to any rental contract between renters and landlords or agencies.

Listing data, photographs and prices are sourced from third-party portals.
Where displayed, abstracts of listings link to the original source for the full listing.
Communication about a property happens directly with the source landlord or agency, not with RentRiga.

3. Using the service

You may use RentRiga to search and view rental listings for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:

Scrape, copy, or systematically extract listing data from RentRiga without our written permission.
Interfere with the operation of the site or attempt to access non-public areas.
Misrepresent yourself in enquiry forms or use the service to send unsolicited communications.

4. Source attribution and accuracy

Each listing on RentRiga displays the name of the source portal where the listing originated and a link to view it on that source. RentRiga makes commercially reasonable efforts to keep listings current but does not warrant the accuracy, availability, price, or condition of any property. The source listing prevails in case of any discrepancy.

5. Takedown and intellectual property

If you are a rights holder and believe content on RentRiga infringes your rights — including copyright in photographs or descriptions, or database rights under EU Directive 96/9/EC — please use our Takedown form. We respond to valid notices within 24 hours.

6. User-submitted enquiries

When you send an enquiry through RentRiga, your message and contact details are forwarded to the source landlord or agency. You grant us a limited, revocable licence to process and forward that message for that purpose. We do not sell your contact details to third parties.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Latvian and EU law, RentRiga is not liable for:

Decisions you make based on listing information shown on the site;
Disputes between you and a landlord or agency;
Loss of profit, business, or indirect damages.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable consumer protection law.

8. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access for users who violate these Terms or applicable law. You may stop using the service at any time.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced on the site at least 14 days before they take effect.

10. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Latvia. Disputes are resolved in the courts of Rīga. Consumers in the EU may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform.
